Friday 19th January 2006

Dear Parents/Carers,
Phew, nobody was swept up by the winds this week and carried of to the land of Oz!

Miss Brent and Ms Crowley had their farewell parties with their classes and Miss Brent will be full time in Class Six from Monday. Ms Crowley will be based in the office as Acting Head and I shall be here every Friday until the end of the summer term. Thank you so much for all the good wishes.

We have been advised that no staff or children should return to school until 48 hours have passed without ?incident? following sickness and diarrhoea. Please could you support us with this as we very much hope to reduce the spread of these nasty bugs.

From Monday Class Five will be using the cloakroom by the girls toilets and will hang their coats up there. We ask that only staff and children go to the area by the staffroom and boys toilets as it is an unsupervised zone.

We have been approached by a tennis coach who could offer a lunch time club open to all year groups on Tuedays or Thursdays at a cost of £3.75 per week. Please see Mrs Popel if you are interested.

There will be a fantastic fun-filled PTFA Bingo event here tonight. Entry at 6.30pm and ?eyes down? at 7pm. Tickets are still available, please come along as great prizes are waiting to be won! The PTFA Annual General meeting will be on Tuesday 23rd January at 6.30 pm at school. We would very much welcome all new and old friends of the school, ideas and help are always appreciated.

A little bird has told us that parents who work in banks can sometimes have access to funding for projects such as playground development. We wonder if any of you might be able to investigate such possibilities? Our PTFA is a few thousand pounds away from £10 000 goal for the playground and it would be wonderful if we could boost their endeavours.

See you at Bingo!

Best Wishes,
